PLANNING UPDATE

Our latest pre-application for a smaller village circa 120 homes with over 100 affordable was received by Dorset Planning Department. The good news is their response supported the major case for the need for affordable housing in Bridport. However they did expressed some reservations regarding the AONB which we believe can be mitigated with detailed work on the landscape design.

L&G ON BOARD

Even better news is that L&G (Legal & General) have agreed to put the full resources behind getting this project done. We at Smart Community Projects will continue to support in anyway we can but the main thrust for achieving planning consent will come from the L and G Housing Management and Land and Partnerships Divisions.

The principals of the scheme remain firmly in place for high quality, eco affordable houses that will go towards tackling the housing crisis within Bridport and West Dorset. Here at Smart Community Projects are delighted with the outcome and will now be actively seeking new projects that define legacy land support, low cost funding, high quality affordable builds and cohesive community development.

Please continue to support the project and we shall continue to update you with news as the project evolves.

Kind regards

Vince Adams & Jonathan Lovett
